Day 4, Thursday 25 July 2013

In the afternoon, Dirk Korte and Paul van de Veen started to prepare the steel wires.
At 16.00 all preparations were done. Nicopress is a perfect tool.
George Hart arrived right on time. At 16.20 PentiDisc was lifted for the very first time.
The question was if the "cantilevered three-point suspension system" as designed by Paul van de Veen would work.
It definitely did and George approved!
In all excitement, only a few pictures and video's were taken.

After the successfull lifting, we landed PentiDisc on tables at its new position.
Samuel Verbiese is still full of questions....
The red discs on top of PentiDisc are safety features of the electropulleys we were not allowed to remove.

That evening, Dirk, Jim and 2xPaul finished all remaining 50 C panels.

A time-lapse video made by Paul Hildebrandt with the subscript
"In which the partial Pentidisc floats in the air for a few seconds as the suspension system passes its first test."
